Delighted to welcome three Cyfle apprentices into full-time positions

Here at ASW Property Services, we are excited to announce that we have offered permanent employment to three apprentices originally taken on through our partnership with Cyfle Building Skills Shared Apprenticeship Scheme.

Carpenters Ewan Evans and Keilan Ryan and fire door installer Elliott Lowry have all accepted full-time jobs with us – helping them embark on the start of an exciting and rewarding career path. All three completed their level NVQ2 while working with us.

Additionally, we have welcomed another two trainees as part of the Shared Apprentice Scheme. Trainee plasterer Thomas Bowen and quantity surveyor Keaton Davies join our team with the aim of providing them with the knowledge and experience needed to excel in their respective trades. Keaton will work closely with Dalton Brown who completed the same progression a year ago.

Cyfle Building Skills Shared Apprenticeship Scheme was formed in September 2013 spanning five local authority regions: Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, Neath Port-Talbot and Swansea. It was awarded Charitable Status in 2016. It has also secured two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in the Innovation and Promoting Opportunity categories.

The initiative has employed more than 650 shared apprentices to date, and new apprentices join the scheme annually. The scheme aims to provide a service that supports young adults in gaining sustainable and permanent employment within the construction industry. It is an opportunity for those apprentices to gain the vital experience needed with the aim of increasing their chances of gaining employment and achieving NVQ qualifications from levels two to five.

Cyfle Building Skills aids the apprentices in developing knowledge of trades such as: bricklaying, plastering, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, business and administration and more, through a mixture of classroom and practical work. It enrols the help of companies like ASW to give the apprentices a role with real-life practical experience and to mentor them through their learning modules, in order to complete the qualification.

Anthony Thomas, our Managing Director, said:

“We are extremely proud of all the apprentices for their hard work and commitment to learning their trade. We have had many excellent apprentices come on board through the Cyfle initiative and this current group are certainly included in that. Everybody at ASW would like to extend their congratulations to those who have secured full-time work, welcome to the team!”

Anthony Rees, Regional Manager, Cyfle Building Skills, added:

“It’s always an extremely proud moment when our apprentices secure full-time employment, even after many years of delivering this program. A huge congratulations to all of you and thank you to ASW for recognising their skillsets and providing them with their first employment opportunity. We hope they are an asset to your company going forward.”
