Investing in training around fire safety

A number of our employees will be going back to college soon to secure a new qualification that will allow us to enhance our service offering.

We have partnered with NPTC Group of Colleges to help our staff gain a new qualification on the Installation of Fire-Resisting Timber Doors. The qualification is the first of its kind in the UK.

The course will allow employees of ASW Property Services to gain new skills and qualify to enable them to work on new services the business offers – one of those services being fire safety.

The course, developed with the British Woodworking Federation, is aimed at tradespersons with an existing site carpentry and joiner qualification. It provides training and assessment on the fitting of single and double fire doors and frames/linings to the standards of current legislation. This qualification can be added to a CSCS card and individuals can promote themselves as a competent fire door installer.
