With an ageing population and the Government’s focus on helping people to live independently, there is increasing demand for aids and adaptations to the homes of older and physically disabled
people.
We understand that a modern aids and adaptations service needs to form part of a joined-up approach across a wide range of disciplines so that the customer, carers and families enjoy a seamless, co-ordinated service at a time when they may feel vulnerable.
Minor property adaptations
With experience carrying out all minor adaptations ASW is able to deliver a fast and efficient service without the need to refer any requests to an occupational therapist.
We can carry out a number of aids and adaptations to meet your customer’s needs including the fitting of:
- Level access showers
- Low access kitchens
- Grab rails or handrails
- Specialist window openers
- Lever taps to washbasins, sinks and baths
- Wheelchair ramps
Major adaptations
Building on our experience of working in occupied properties we also carry out disabled adaptation works. Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs), Physical Adaptation Grants (PAG’s) are grants provided by local authorities to help meet the cost of adapting a property for the needs of a disabled person.
